do I need the English language test for ILR

Post by entruk » Wed Dec 27, 2017 12:30 pm

hi guys,

I read the guidance and I understand the point which states that if your current leave is Tier 1(Entr) then you don't need to take the english language test again.

Now the question is, the above point applies on extension application only or is it valid for ILR applications as well.

As far as I remember in extension application we can say that our current leave is Tier 1 (entr) so we don't need to provide the certificate again (something like that)

But, I saw the ILR Set(o) form and the form just asking about the test details nothing else. Not sure how good will it be to provide them the test details I took around 5 years ago or should I take a new one for ILR application.

You do not need to take English language test.

That test maybe for Life in UK.

You must prove your knowledge of English again for ILR. You can submit old English certificates if it is still accepted by HO.

Are you sure we have to prove & provide English certificate again? I was checking Marcnath post where he claimed point for English language without providing certificate again.

Is the required certificate B1-Speaking and Listening (GESE Grade 5) or ISE 1 -B1 Speaking- Listening- Writing-Reading ?
Which one is required?
Because my old certificate is City&Guilds, it is not acceptable anymore, I just use it for extension as automatically meet the requirements.
Please advise
Thanks
