[URGENT] IHS for British citizen wife dependent

Post by ingbie » Mon Jan 08, 2018 9:30 am

Hi,

My wife (INDIAN) is applying for spouse visa to join me in the UK
I came on Tier 1 -> ILR -> BC

While applying from INDIA, she is asked to pay for IHS
It says
"Their details"
and does not have entry for Tier1(general) at all as "Visa Route"
In "Their Details" is the "Visa Route" means the route being taken by the applicant or the British citizen ?
If I say settlement and then choose wife, IHS is reported as "ZERO 0.00£". Is this right ? I am extremely confused with that part of the IHS website from gov.uk

I think she has to enter UK with a spouse visa.
Her visa is expiring soon. Please can someone help (urgent!)

the current visa says "Spouse/CP"
She switched from tier1 dependent to Spouse visa by mistake around 3 years back.

on VFS website she chose "Settlement" "Wife"
There is no other visa type matching spouse/cp
There has been a gap in her visa. and she has not travelled with last visa. So she is yet to start the 5yr stay in the UK. Hence this visa she is applying will be the first 2.5 yrs

Settlement
>> Settlement
>>>>Wife

Is the correct option. You are for this application purpose ONLY British.

Hope you have lots of evidence of subsisting relationship and evidence of communication.

The IHS must be paid at £600. She is not exempt.

In the pay for IHS how ? When I chose "Visa route" there is no Tier 1 in the visa route
What must I select ?
There is no PBS or Tier 1 general or HSMP in the list to choose
edit:
I am confused - the visa route is "me the BC route" or the person applying ?
If it is person applying there is no Spouse/CP
If it is my route then there is no "Tier 1 general"

We cannot see the online forms. Your details are 'BRITISH' for the purpose of a spouse visa.

Why don't you pay the IHS separately on the IHS website directly and then input the ref number on the spouse visa online form.

The online form only redirects to the IHS
there is no place in IHS to properly select the visa route
I could not see the IHS reference number *manual input* in the online form.

IHS is for the person applying.

As I said, we cannot see the online forms so have no idea what options you are given. Many of us completed our journeys years ago so don't have experience of IHS.

Dont know how
but Re-did my application at VFS

at the early questions when entering IHS, there must have been something wrong I selected.
This time the question of "Their detail" was not asked at all
A surcharge of 600 was paid.
finished the application.

Oof ! the online application is becoming too confusing. Good old paper forms were much better !

So yes the final getaway from this is
be careful with the first few questions when entering the IHS website from inside Visa4UK
