Consideration of Stay during Study Visa

Dear all,

Appreciate if some one could clarify this. Does stay during on student visa (Before applying for HSMP) calculate towards 5 years stay requirment for permanent residency?

No.Time apent on your student will not count towards your ILR.

Anyway, where is the rational of including stundent visa towards ILR qualifying year ?

No it does not count for 5 year rule. But it would count for PR for 10 year legal stay basis.
Thinking low is crime....
