belgium and ukrainian visa

Post by marky1 » Mon Apr 07, 2008 10:29 am

Please could someone help me with the following questions.

I am a belgium citizen and my girlfriend is Ukrainian, we are currently planning on going throught the type C visa "with view to marriage"

I have the following questions after marriage which has to take place within three months of her visit, what will her status be, meaning i guess she will be a resident ?? will she be able to work ? if not what happens then, how do we go about this, will she need to again apply for a type D visa.

Thanks in advance, if anyone has experience with this any tips or help would be appreciated

Just to clarify, are you are living and working in Belgium?

You are right. Your fiance's entry into Belgium will be regulated by Belgian law if you live and work there.

.

This the Belgium embassy page with basic information:

- http://www.diplobel.us/travelingbelgium ... tizens.asp

Other good links fairly well-categorized at the site map:

It's tilted a bit toward Americans coming into Belgium, but the majority of information will apply to all non-EU partners that wish to join their EU/Belgian partner in Belgium.

Your most difficult problem seems to be that (from your post) you have not actually cohabitated together for any significant time.

Now, above link & this one are about unmarried partners:

If you intend to marry (and that intention is the basis of the visa application), then this will show some of the differences to consider:
