6-month visa for family visit?

6-month visa for family visit?

Hi,
My mother is going to retire and thinking to come here to stay with my family for 6 months.
My husband is EU national and I hold EU family stamped GNIB.
The problem is that there's only 3-month visa for family visit like this according to the official website.I wonder if someone has tried another kind of visa for our case.

What citizenship does your mother have?

Is your mother financially dependent on you or have you lived together in the recent past?
