I was as naive as you are. However, once met those politicans, I changed my mind. They are 1000 times stronger than us, in terms of both mind and power.herts wrote:smartwave, when that report did come out about 2 months back i suppose, we did discuss its 50-50 chance that they may apply to existing people as well. But also it said in that report it would be applicable for people entering uk after 2011.
I am with smartwave. I work for a BIG company in UK which have 20% contractors and none of them get less then £500 per day. The company is trying to replace these with permanent people but its hard to find them with appropriate skills. The shortage of RIGHT skills is to a extend that 1 of the contractor terminated his contract because he demanded more then £600 per day. Interestingly he got a new one in a month with some financial company.smartwave wrote:The motive is big companies!herts wrote:After the 10 Eastern european countries joined in 2 years ago, there was a major influx of eastern european people. The govt could do nothing to stop them coming to UK as it was inder EU treaty. But they could play with our papers, is they are so much concerned about immigration why dont they completely stop the tier 1 scheme, there must be some otive behind it to keep it still going on.
they need cheap labour, even in high skilled sector.
I haven't seen any mention of salary in the proposed changes to citizenship and PR. Can you provide a link?smartwave wrote:for those who need the transitional arrangement to get the visa extended, you best bet is to get the PR through the HSMP route, instead of the tier system. Once you get into the tier system, you are dead unless you make good salary.
I'm glad to see I didn't overlook a policy detail as important as that.herts wrote:Baboo, the salary thing for pr and citizenship is what our 6th sense sees. not all people would see it, only ones who have got that 6th sense can see the salary requirement for pr.
I don't doubt they will make immigration rules not necessarily based on what's fair for immigrants or right or decent but more likely for what's politically and financially most convenient for their own re-election. I also think they do occasionally make the right decisions but that seems to be happening less and less.smartwave wrote:Once you sit down with Gorden Brow, Liam and Jacque Smith and talk to them you will have the right sense that they can do and will do anything they like regardless the rights of the migration workers.MrBaboo wrote:I'm glad to see I didn't overlook a policy detail as important as that.herts wrote:Baboo, the salary thing for pr and citizenship is what our 6th sense sees. not all people would see it, only ones who have got that 6th sense can see the salary requirement for pr.
If it actually did happen I wouldn't be greatly surprised given the current anti non-EU immigration climate in the UK. That said, since there's no mention of it in the policy papers it can cause unnecessary alarm to the causal reader on seeing such strong assertions without qualifications such as "I think...".
My 6th sense was telling me that I should be suspicious of the claims in a thread containing the word "conspiracy" unless there was some pretty good reasoning behind them.
Looking into devil's eyes you will kown what is evil.
If you still think that they will make a fair rule for you, that is wrong.
The right rule can only be gained by fighting.
