COS for tier2 visa extension or change of employer

Hello everyone,

I just have a question regard COS allocations.I have noticed that there has been so many unfortunate events of delays for restricted COS for tier 2 due to increase in the minimum points required.

I am currently on tier 2 visa in the UK which is due to expire in aug 2019.

Does the new limit on restricted tier 2 COS apply to me when extending my visa or changing my employer from the UK? My understanding is that this limit only applies for migrants applying for tier 2 out of the UK for the first time. Is that True?

I am worried about getting refusals and severe delays when applying for a new COS from the UK next year to extend my visa.

Yes, you are correct - the cap is only applicable to people applying out of UK.
As you are already in UK, you need to have unrestricted CoS and there is no limit on this. Hope that helps.

Based on current rules you won't be affected because you will be applying for an unrestricted CoS, but things may change in a year time so too soon to worry.
