Travel for job interview prior to HSMP Entry Clearance

Post by curious canadian » Wed Apr 09, 2008 1:08 am

Here is my dilemma - if anyone can shed some light on. Thank you so much in advance.

I am Canadian National working in USA. I have gotten my HSMP approval. I have been applying for jobs in UK. Some employers have been interested in bringing me in for an interview.

Can I fly in to UK for a job interview (prior to entry clearance). I am allowed visit UK without a visa (because I am Canadian National). Once I secure a position, I plan to get EC processed within 5-10 days.

I am working in US at the moment - what I am trying to do is to have least amount of time between US job (current) and my perspective employment.

Is there anything wrong with this approach - is this allowed?
Thanks!

Is there anyone who can help me on this please? I need to find out about it urgently? If traveling for job interview before entry clearance is going to cause problems for me later --- I can apply for EC right now.

can some one please look at this post - Thanks!

There is nothing wrong with this approach. I would have done same thing, if in your position.
