Hi,

Can my child get british citizenship, he born in uk
but I am holding work permit on Indian passport.

Unfortunately not, you can register your child as British when you get ILR.

I don't understand. Weren't you getting ready to apply for British nationality just three months ago?

If that's the case, doesn't this mean that you have at least ILR? And thus have a child who can be registered already? If so, I'm not sure how your question (or the fact that you still somehow hold a work permit) makes any sense...

I am here from last 2 yrs. on workpermit
so after 3 yrs. more then i will be on ILR
then i can get british passport for my baby?
or baby will always have the same status as me.

If a child is born in the UK, then once the parents gain ILR the british can be registered for british citizenship.
In the meantime, child would have nationality of parents.

I asked this on behalf of my friend.
I am applying Naturalisation next week, it was rejected last month
as I was out of the country 5 yrs. back in March.
