Got approval in 1 week

Post by homeboy » Thu Feb 24, 2005 8:07 pm

Hi guys!

Just wanted to say a big THANK YOU to all guys on this board (you are just marvellous)-- I've read through most of the posts within the past two months, and they were all very helpful. Now here is my road map to approval (under 28):

Application Date = 07 February 2005
Received by HSMP = 08 February 2005
Approval Date = 16 February 2005
Received Approval in Mail = 22 Feb 2005
Location: out of country(Europe)
Occupation: IT specialist

By the way mine was not an urgent treatment I didn't send any job offer.

I claimed 70 points. I don't know exactly how many points I received, since they didn't write any breakdown of the points
Age = 5
Education = 25
Work Experience = 25
Significant achievement = 15

Total = 70...just passed the threshold

Once again keep on the good work and don't loose hope.Any questions I'm ready to answer them

Congs i guess you are as supprised as any onyone. Been reading most posts recently and the rate of approval for new cases is high. By the way when did they take your payment and what was your ref number?

Thanks lynn132 and hmnjuba.

The payment was deducted on the same day i.e. 8 Feb.

Ref. number: 0350xx

The response has been so swift it has really changed all my plans as I was expecting the decision sometime in the summer.

anyway that's the way it is but I think it is really unfair to other guys who have applied last year.

Congs again and don't say its unfair because this is more like a lottery, everyone has their on luck and yours was this so thank God and maybe send prayers for the rest or you could post and advice on how your documentation would help other applicants.

congrats home boy.

if u don't mind sharing, what did you claim as significant achievement in the filed of IT. From what I have read and heard, that's the most difficult to justify. u r in europe and didn't claim points on earnings, so just wondering :roll:

Yep desiguy, I just followed the info in the Guidance notes i.e. I submitted my publications, conference presentations I have done and an academic reference letter.
I guess it pays to claim the points you are sure you have even if they are just on the threshold.

Hello Homeboy!

Congratulations!

I'm also an IT Specialist, could you tell me how you proved you work is graduate level? What did you wrote on the reference letter?

Thank you,
L.

Thanks lbfrancois

Well I'm about to finish my PhD so as part of my work I was teaching undergraduate students and I have a lot of research work in my field. I guess in the reference letter you must write your responsibilities and show that your job requires at least a graduate level experience.

Hope this helps lbfrancois
