Changing name in BRP (Tier 2 Dependent)

Hello all,

I am currently on Tier 2 general visa and my wife is on Tier 2 Dependent. Just recently, she has changed her passport and name on it. According to GOV.UK website, to change the name on BRP the following form needs to be completed, as we are classed as the 'leave to remain' category:

Application for a transfer of conditions (TOC) and a biometric immigration document by someone who already has limited leave to enter or remain in the UK

Can someone please help me with following information:

1) Is this the correct form? It seems this form is used to transfer visa to BRP.
2) In the form, my wife will be the main applicant. Do I need to include any details of mine (could not find anything on the form)?
3) Document checklist asks for Any Home Office letter(s) notifying you and/or your dependant(s) of the grant of limited leave to enter or remain in the UK, is this the letter sent when the Tier-2 visa was granted?

You need to complete what the form in the links I have posted asks for. It is your wife applying, not you.

Here's why the name was changed:

Her actual name is say 'First Name' 'Last Name'

But, in Bangladesh Engineer is used as a title sometimes. Therefore, the passport office messed the title (as there is no title field in the passport) and put it as first name: 'ENGR First name' 'Last Name'

In all the documents e.g. marriage certificate, university certificates etc. the name is without this 'ENGR'. Since, UKVI follows what was in the initial passport, they issued the BRP with 'ENGR'. Recently, we had the opportunity to change her passport. That's why we need to change the details on the BRP.

So, basically the evidence is the passport. I am bit confused if the passport needs to be sent to UKBA. In the form it is stated that, marriage certificate or deed poll needs to be submitted.

Couple of questions though:

Will the UKBA issue a new BRP for her?

If the passport is sent, is it better to provide a prepaid envelope?

Can someone please tell me if the Change of Circumstances form (MCC) is sent to UKBA for changing the name (Tier 2 Dependent), will they issue a new BRP? TIA.

Hi Ruzbeh, did you eventually submit the MCC? Was it approved?
