ILR application - absences (set O - section 6.2)

Hi Vaibhav,

I am due to apply ILR on 1st week of April; Just a quick question (Admins, I am sorry if this is the wrong place for this question, you can, by all means, stop this post ).

My question, When would we need to pay the application fee? will it be when we block the date? or in person on the appointment day?

If you apply in person you pay online as part of the appointment booking process.

HO no longer take payments on the day of the appointment at the centre.

Thanks for the quick responses.

The below is my scenario, I am trying to understand the application process. Me and two dependants, just want to make sure the application is not rejected after paying nearly 9k.

27th Apr - 5yr around for me.
3rd Apr - (24 days - I am planning to book the appointment)
17th Feb - (45 days prior we can book the appointment for 3Apr and pay the fee; which is technically 69 days to my 5yr round)

Just confused on booking the appointment.

You can check availability 42 days in advance, sometimes less like 28 days in advance. Too early to look for appointments now.

I am applying alone, I have 198 days holidays in 5yrs. I am entitled to 28 holidays/year (including bank holidays) from my employer.

Check your calculation - absence 5 should be 23 days not 24. Don’t count days of departure and return.

Hi! First of all congrats for your ILR. Thats a great news.
I am also kinf of same situation but i stayed back home like 1/2 weeks extra than annual holiday and worked from home on those days. Can you please let me know how you mentioned that on application and absence letter?

Hi GMO,

As mentioned, the above post was for my friend. We both granted ILR recently. From our experience -
Please mention 'Authorised Paid holidays' in the application and the absences letter put on a table with the list of days you are off and employer approved it.

Hi GMO,

We have just mentioned 'Authorised Paid holidays'. Our thought was not to give unnecessary attention by writing 'work from home'.

Same mentioned in the 'Absence Letter'.

You can type the letter sample out and leave out all personal details/information.
