Tier 2 sponsor switching

Post by amanlamba1 » Tue Feb 20, 2018 12:06 pm

Hi,
I am currently on Tier2G Visa since Sept 2016. I am looking for a new job and therefore a new sponsor. I have heard that 60 days rule of switching sponsor is no longer valid. But if not 60 days and to keep my 5 year continuous residence for future ILR - what is the maximum duration I am allowed between leaving the current job and my new sponsor conduction RLMT?
Many thanks
Aman

There is no 'maximum' stipulated time. However, you should note that if you are not working for your ex sponsor, you cannot do any work, not even supplementary work and you risk getting a visa curtailment letter.

Thank you for the quick response. Very kind of you. I have recently updated my recent address with home office. So for example home office takes 4 months to provide a curtailment letter (includes time taken by my ex employer to inform them) + 2 months allowed before I need to leave UK. And my new sponsor makes a Tier2G application during that period, this is around 6 months of gap between the 2 jobs. So it does not affect my 5 year continuous period to be eligible for ILR? Many thanks once again
