Spouse visa - say they can not complete application

Post by bammargera » Mon Feb 12, 2018 9:28 pm

12 weeks exactly from biometrics today we received an email as follows:

The UK Decision Making Centre is currently assessing the application submitted by the above named. We are unable to conclude the application at this time as we require additional information.

Please provide the following documents:

-Your sponsor's last 6 month's full bank statements which clearly show his salary being paid into the account. (The decision maker was unable to see this from a number of the bank statements submitted.)

——-

We have been given a five working day deadline.

Issues:

- I have copies here and quadruple checked and all my salary credits are in my bank statements. That’s a fact. I submitted 12 months payslips and bank sttements and employment letter, contract, payslip authenticity letter. The lot. I have no idea what they are looking at.
- I’m a paperless customer. Five working days is by enough time to get resent (Santander take 7-10). Santander branch can’t print anything other than non-branded transaction list. CAN I PRINT ONLINE STATEMENTS AND GET THEM STAMPED? They will do this and frankly I think it’s our only choice regardless.
- last 6 months from today? Or from biometrics? Spoke to HO on phone and they didn’t even know. Said to send from may 1 last year to be safe.

And finally, how should we approach? It’s clearly a human error on their end, so when we email them back the online stamped statements should we draw their attention to where to look on the bank statements or if this seen as a disrespect? There really shouldn’t be any need for us to go to the trouble of sourcing documents already provided due to their error and risking our application in the process as it’s online statements

And yes, all dates, and exact amounts to the penny match my payslips.

I guess they might have lost your bank statements but you must follow strictly to their email accordingly. As per common sense the bank statements must be until the date of application while not being older than 28 days. I also think you might have submitted excessive additional bank statements of 12 months instead the required one 6 months. Just follow the email but send them the required bank statements with a detailed covering letter as what else you have submitted earlier and how you meet the financial requirement.

IN FUTURE WHENEVER YOU HAVE TO DEAL HO ALWAYS ATTACH THE RELEVANT, PRECISE DOCUMENTS TO KEEP CASE STRAIGHT. ATTACHING ADDITIONAL EVEN WORSEN THE SITUATION.

Okay, will sending scanned copies of online stamped statements be okay?

Understand your point re six months prior to biometric date but the advice of the HO officer I spoke to was to submit up to today.

Donot send copies/scanned version. since you have no time so preferably you can print online statements then ask branch to stamp each page to make it officially acceptable. If one branch do not cooperate then try other branch in another area. Donot forget to add a detailed covering letter explaining as what earlier you have submitted and how you meet the financial threshold. Most importantly your bank statements & payslips must show your last 6 months wages credit (if category A) from the date of application which must be mentioned in covering letter too.

In their email it says to scan and return to them - so what else can we do.

I’m going to get all the online copies stamped, scan and email back to them as per their instructions.

“Please send this document as a scanned attachment within 5 working days to xxx.xxx@xxx.xxx.gov.uk quoting your application reference in the subject line.“

There you go.

It means get last 6 months bank statements printed off, take to branch and get them to stamp them to authenticate them. Then, you upload / attach all of these bank statements to the email address provided. If you do want to add any words, you can also attach a cover letter with these bank statements.

We have sent back our statements covering 6 months prior to biometrics (which we already submitted with the original application) and then the subsequent 3 months plus payslips (stamped online ones. No choice.). We also wrote a cover letter drawing attention to salary credits in my statements. I don’t know how these can be missed again. Seems odd to me, but as you say perhaps they lost our statements some how. They’re human!

I was a paperless customer pre July 2017 so with our original application sent in a long single statement sent by post with bank letter covering November 2016-June 2017. Our advisor suggested that instead of bombarding them with info we submit just the last pages of this in response to their email request - and due to the timeframe we couldn’t obtain statements for just the month as that take 7 working days. So for May and June 2017 we submitted the last 2 pages plus the bank cover letter only.

I’m worried this will not be acceptable, however the man from the HO I spoke to on the phone last week told me not to stress over the format of whatever I email them because our request for further info picked up on not seeing the salary credits rather than the statement format. He said they would have mentioned that if it was an issue but I just keep wondering how they didn’t see the credits in there and therefore if their email actually masks some other concern they have just not explained to us.

How long will it be until people usually hear back from these requests? I’ve got another job in the pipeline I’ve been headhunted for which is a big step up in pay for me but I can’t take it without the visa coming through due to the six months employment thing (in the event we have to re submit). Just have to keep the hope.

Hi Guys, question has anyone first/second hand experience as to how long we will need to wait to hear back?

I hate to bump the thread like this it’s just I need some estimates so I can plan my life given progression of my job situation referred to above. Some big life decisions resting on whatever the average wait times are and likely outcomes for us given our info above. Cheers
