ILR application - cover letter

Post by ashokkumarcts » Mon Mar 05, 2018 4:10 pm

Hi guys,

I am going to apply for ILR in May 2018. I need to enclose a general cover letter and list the attached documents.

Do you have any sample format for ILR - cover letter?

It would be appreciated if you have any example letter or sample format.

Thanks
Ash

There is no 'cover letter template' and a 'cover letter' is not required. The form has all the information that HO expects to see.

Thank you very much CR001.

You are answering lots of questions and everything is helpful but we don't your name and I felt very rude to write as "CR001" but don't have the choice.

Much appreciated.

Thanks
Ash

Passport, travel document or national identity card

Post by ashokkumarcts » Thu Mar 08, 2018 4:18 pm

Hi there,

I have a question in section 11 (Passport) for ILR application via Tier 2 general

I have an Indian passport but I renewed in the UK and the place of issue is in London.

Question is: what do I need to put for the below one:

Section 11.2.4: Country of issue and issuing authority

Is it: "India and Republic of India" or "the United Kingdom and Republic of India" ?

My friend did mistake 2012 When renewing passport in the UK and but he mentions the original country.

If you issue passport and paid fee everything Done in the UK the place of issue UK, not your back home.

Appointment date for ILR application

Post by ashokkumarcts » Tue Mar 13, 2018 2:57 pm

I need to double check 28 days subtraction calculations, I used the below link to find out the date. However, I have a confusion so posting here for the suggestion or answers.

My first Tier 2 General visa granted on 12/06/2013.

I calculated 365 days * 5 years = 1825 days. Therefore, 1825 days - 28 days = 1797 days.

https://www.timeanddate.com/date/datead ... =1797&rec=

As a result, 12/06/2013 minus 1797 days = 14/05/2018. Is it a right calculation?

I am thinking to book a premium appointment on 17/05/2018. Is it a correct date?

Thanks
Ash

Wrong date. You are eligible to apply from 15/05/2018 not before.

Premium Service

Post by ashokkumarcts » Wed Mar 14, 2018 11:06 am

I am trying to book an appointment for ILR premium service since morning and it shows "Available appointments from the date selected".

Is there any particular time that the slots will be available?

It is too early to book appointments for second half of May. You can only view and book appointments up to 6 weeks in advance.

ILR application questions

Post by ashokkumarcts » Tue Mar 20, 2018 2:05 pm

Each and every time when I read the ILR - SET (O) application form, I get a new question.

The question is under Section 4 - Knowledge of language and life in the UK.
I have passed life in the UK test and have a master degree that was taught or researched in the UK.

My question: do I need to complete the below question by saying "NO" or just leave/skip this question.

4.4 If you and/or your partner have not obtained one of the relevant qualifications, are you claiming exemption from this requirement because a physical or other condition prevents you from taking the Life in the UK test or doing a speaking and listening qualification in English?

YES or NO

If you and/or your partner are claiming exemption, you must provide a doctor’s letter or similar evidence confirming that you and/or your partner are unable to take the test or obtain a speaking and listening qualification. An exemption will only be agreed exceptionally. If you have answered yes to this question go to section 5
