Hi everyone. This is my adventure time to renew travel document:
09.11 2017- application sent by RM 1st class recorded delivery
09.12 2017- received finger print letter and done it same day
24.02.2018- received HO letter that my application suspected due to I did't enclose in my application ORIGINAL HO status letter(? what for??) and my National Passport, which had been retained by HO in 1999 and on top of it expired in 2003 !!!??? HO gave me 15 days to send them required document.
26.02.2018- sent recording delivery letter to HO with ORIGINAL status letter and explanation about my National passport.
06.03. 2018- received RM letter from HO with my old Travel document with cutted cornes and letters where they said my new TD and BRP card will arrive in next 7 days.
08/03.2018- received New Travel Document
13/03/2018- received BRP
Good Luck everyone...!!!))
Hello , do they usually ask for finger prints to be taken ?

Hello Everyone,
I got refugee status early February, got my BRP and got a job and then decided to apply for my first Travel Document on February 27. Unfortunately, I lost the job I got and now have to apply for another job in order to survive. I have scanned copies of my BRP and status letter which I do not if employers will accept.
It's been over 2 weeks since I mailed my BRP and other documents to the Home Office. My question is, for a first time applicant for a travel document, how long does it take for the BRP to come back? I need it to apply for jobs. What do you suggest I do?
Thank you all.

Hi, usually Home Office returns BRP card within 3 weeks, so hopefully you should get it by end of this week.
Good luck

Hello,
My documents were returned at same time as New Travel document at 4 months. It might be different in your case as each case is different. The first thing I suggest is you email the Travel Document section and ask if they can return documents without cancelling your application. Explain the situation.

Hi Sam,
At the end of the online application there is a checklist for things to send. I sent:
Printout of application form
Expired travel document
Letters from Home Office with Leave to remain
Photos x 2
Stick to the checklist Good luck!!

I sent my application for travel document yesterday 20/03/2018. Application received today 21/03/18.
I sent my application with my ILR BRP card, 2 photos and my old travel document. I understand that the process takes around 3 months. So the waiting game is on....

Hey everyone,
I believe application nowadays take around 18 weeks to be completed! Something around 80-90 working days so If you don’t receive it within 3 months don’t panic. please let us know if you anyone received their TD within 70 working days.

Hey Moka,
Although you made application online on the 22nd the Home office received your supportive documents on the 28th Dec so your 70 working days timeline starts from the 28th not the 22nd. Please bear in mind HO has got a backlog and I doubt it you would be able to receive your TD before March/April Bank holiday but please keep us posted if you did.
I myself sent my documents on the 6thDecember and still waiting!!!!!

Hi Kashukhan,
Did you apply online and then send your documents in post on the second of December? The 2nd of December is a Saturday so I am assuming they got your documents on the 4th December.
I applied on 4th December online and supporting documents sent to Home Office on 6th December but I am still waiting!

I applied for the renewal of TD
Date of application 10/01/18
Acknowledgement of application 06/02/18
Still waiting for TD I am getting worried as I have a holiday booked for 09/05/18. Looking at the timeline for other people commenting 3-5 months. I cant find a number to call and track as it says not to book holidays before getting TD. I expected a renewal to be quicker. Any advice anyone Im stressed?

Hi
You have 2 options
First one be stressed more and more if you are likey you might get it before your holiday or might not no one know, and they don’t tell you any information like that.
The second option cancel your holiday and live with less stress just ignore it and don’t worry about it, and will arrive suddenly then after you will arrange your holiday.
Note: no phone number to call Travel Document Department, the only way by email which they will replay to you in 20 workinf days, i can give you that if you don’t have itt
I know that so disappointing but i have the same experience and i’m still waitng for my renewed TD
Good Luck

@sue...
I am more or less in the same situation applied for a renewal on 6th December and still waiting. I chased home office by email and phone. Unfortunately they won’t give you enough information as to when your TD will be issued! The email template is a general one repeating what’s been said in your acknowledgement letter!
If I were you, I would postpone my holiday till early June. At least this puts your mind at peace!
Good luck
