Has anyone applied for EC after April 1st under tier 1

Post by lata » Thu Apr 17, 2008 6:18 am

Hi,

Has anybody got HSMP approval letter after April 1st and applied for EC under tier 1 from India? Please let me know.

I have gone thru all queries in this forum. Iam in confusion about
1. Maintanance funds-- Do we need to maintain 2800 GBP for 3 months or 1 month?
2. Do we need to use old form ?or new form? for applying EC
3. How much extra amount we need to maintain for dependent?

If anybody knows clearly Please reply back.

Appreciate your quick reply.

Thanks,
lata.

Hi Lata
My case is similar to yours, I have applied for HSMP on 12th Mrach, awaiting letter - Any idea how much time it takes?

Also because I will receive my HSMP letter after 1st April - I think as per following URL I need to apply for EC under Teir-1 plan?

Check the "Transitional arrangements for those with a HSMP approval l" in following URL
http://www.vfs-uk-in.com/pbsguidance.aspx

Have you received your HSMP letter? From which center are you playying your EC?
Even me too have dependant coming with me and have similar questions.

Keep in touch.

My application has reached home office on 31st march. I am also awaiting for letter. No idea how much time it takes exactly as many applications in queue. As of yesterday, Feb 28ths applications were in process.

In the site http://www.vfs-uk-in.com/pbsguidance.aspx , there is nothing mentioned about dependent maintanance funds.

As per the site I understand that we need to apply under tier1. But Iam confused with questions and answers in this forum about it.

I have not received HSMP letter yet. Meanwhile Iam planning to maintain funds in my a/c. I will apply from Hyderabad. How about you? from which center you are going to apply for Ec?

We have to show only liquid cash if we apply under tier1? or can we show mutual funds , LIC, ..etc Also can we show flats, land, jewellery etc?

Please let me know if you know or get any updates .

Thanks,
Lata.

Hi Lata
in the URL which I have forwarded you there is a link for the Forms, in the Forms I have found that dependant should be shown balance of £1600 and for us it is £2800.
I beleive it's all should be liquid cash so no fixed assets, but LIC/MF should work.
I am planning to call VFS chennai office and ask about few things such as
1. Do we fall under Tier-1 now for EC
2. Required docs
3. Funds queries
4. Dependant form queris

It's better if you too can confirm it with them so that we can be be on same page.

Ohh me too applying from Hyderabad.

Let us keep in touch

Hi
It will be of great assistance if you could answer the following queries. I am from india and had applied for HSMP in feb 2008 and had received approval letter prior to April 1, 2008.

1) Is it possible to ask for a post dated Entry-Clearance?

2) The fees for me would be 17425 Rs. How much is it for the HSMP dependant?

3) Now when I go for HSMP EC, Will I get 3 years or 2 years as the
term of stay? Pretty confusing bcos of the transition.

3) My wife will be joining me by August. Will I be able to apply EC
for her now and still she will be able to travel in August?

4) Is a proof of accommodation in UK a necessity?

5) How much bank balance to be maintained if I have 1 dependant?

6) Please send me a complete list of documents required for HSMP EC dependant. Should I attach CV, Cover letter, etc., for her as well?

7) What is the VAF form no. for the HSMP primary applicant and dependant?

8) She is a Sri Lankan Passport holder and an Indian resident. Will she b able to apply from India?

9) Should my wife have a valid IELTS as well?

Thanks and Regards

Hi Lata
Me too from Hyderabad.
Chennai is the only BHC in south India, so planned to call Chennai instead of Hyderabad VFS, Chennai VFS should have more information on this.

BTW - how to get the status on HSMP application? I remember you said last week they were processing the applications received on 28th Mrach, how did you get that info? Actually it's IMP for me to know the status of HSMP application if you can please let me know.

Thanks
