Entitlement of benefits for British children having non-British parents

Post by faisaltanoli » Tue Mar 20, 2018 2:22 pm

Hello,

Just come across a family who were in seek of advise.

The family came to UK in 2004 and reside till 2010 legally then become illegal. Their first child got citizenship on the basis of born and live in UK more then 10 years.

Now question whether either child or parent (on behalf of child) entitled to any benefits?

Thanks
Regards

If they have no legal status or do not hold ILR, then no they cannot claim.

It is the parent that claims not the child.

Thanks,

Even the statutory child benefit. The child himself can not?

No, the parents are the ones who claim child benefits for a child.
