Assalamu Alaikum all.martha wrote:he chooses this option he will be detained in a detention centre until his case is heard. This could take several months. If your husband does not want to appeal then immigration will put him on a flight home. This might not be the next flight. Depends when they want to send him back!
If he has a spouse visa, and you dont give him permission to leave the airport, and he appeals because of the divorce proceedings, I would imagine that he would still have to do it from the detention centre..
V-salaam Martha!martha wrote:Hey johnboy, good to see you back.
You brought up some good points there. I didnt know about these things. But lets hope the other sister has good luck with it all.
And good idea for her to get the local MP to back her.
Hope you're OK too.
Salaams
See the MP, get him to write to the Home Secretary Jacqui Smith, the more letters she gets, the more she'll know what's going on.martha wrote:It's been mentioned several times about getting the local MP involved. I'm wondering if I should do this?
Divorce papers should be served my h tomorrow, if he takes them that is.
I have also sent an email to the Shariah council in Leyton, asking if they think I have grounds for khulla.
johnboy, sorry your ex is behaving so badly. I hope justice prevails for you. It's terrible that you are having to wait so long though. I wonder if the Home Office will change the way they process spouse visa's at some point. As scamming is such a problem, surely they must see that something further needs to happen to protect folks such as us?
It's a real eye opener. And makes you wary of who to trust in the future. It's a real headache
Hey again,martha wrote:Thanks johnboy,
Yes, Ive already given a fairly detailed account to the Local MP, and will give him more. I just hope he wants to help, but guess he should, as it's part of his role. I'll let you know when he e-mails me back.
A mixture of Hitler and Mussolini eh? Well, there's a thought
