Hello

Would anyone be able to advise me;

I applied for a uk settlement visa for my husband who is currently in Afghanistan he went to Islamabad to do his biometric as this is our nearest visa application centre - I used solicitor name/details removed by moderator as my solicitor as our case is complex. They submitted our application and did a cover letter for us.

However our solicitor has been closed by the SRA recently and all our paperwork is with them.
My concern is that the email given in the application was my solicitors email address, but mine and my husbands mobile numbers.

I wondering how to change the email address and if this is possible? As Im not sure how we will get updates?
Do they send text or calls for us to receive an update?

There is no need to call them. You can write them an email, they respond pretty quickly

Thanks I called this morning and have told them that my solicitor is closed and to update my email address. They said it will take upto 15days to update. and they could not tell me anything else. But my application is being looked at.

I did not have my IHS number as my solicitor did not provide this to me but has been debited from my bank acc. I will have to wait until I get my case back from the intervening agent (solicitor)

As you already been advised it's better to email them and have it in writing that you did try to get them update your contact details.

I have found their responses on emails alot better and swift. After you send an inquiry email they'll ask you to provide details through email. For IHS reference number you can provide the bank transaction record while you're waiting for the reference number. Also your solicitor must've provided you a proof for IHS payment (Which applicant needs to take for biometrics appointment to show all fees have been paid).
