British Citizenship for EU

Hi,

I am an EU National and living in the UK since 2007 with my husband which he has EU family Member resident card. We applied for PR card in 2013 but refused was refused because i didn't work continuously for five years, then in 2013 I have start work again and my husband got his Resident again for another five years which will expire soon. Now I have completed my five years of work continuously. My question is can we apply for British citizenship straight after getting the Permanent Resident card or we have to wait another 12 months to apply?
