Certifying documents

Post by mjwall » Sun Feb 27, 2005 1:57 pm

Hi all

Very quick question ... I'm an in-country applicant (UK) and was wondering who can certify documents and what must they write for the HSMP application.

Thanks all!

Matt

Any Solicitor is able to do that for you and it tends to be the case that a Solicitor charges a lot less than a Notary for that service.

My understanding is that they charge £5 per sheet or page ..... but I am open to correction on that.

I went to the local police station in London yesterday and asked them to certify my passport and current visa photocopies. Wasn't a problem. They wrote along the lines of "I certify this passport/visa to be an exact copy of the original". Signed and printed name. Also got the police station stamp on each page. Cost ... nothing!
