Timing of ILR Application

Dear All,

My wife will shortly be eligible for her ILR having arrived in the UK in July 2013. We applied and received her FLR(M) extension in March 2016 for 33 months. This second visa is set to run out at the close of September 2018. I am a British citizen.

My question is a simple one. Can we apply for the ILR exactly five years after she arrived in UK ie in July 2018 or should we wait until 28 days before the second visa expiry date ie September 2018? The reason I ask is that this would take us past the 60 month residency period.

Spouse can apply withing 28 days before reaching the 5 year anniversary from the date of entering UK., either by post or in person for a same day decision.
