No need to leave Ireland to apply spouse visa?!

Post by walkindublin » Mon Apr 21, 2008 4:58 pm

Hi all,

there're rumors around about to apply the spouse visa, applicant doesn't have to leave the country, it can be done within Immigration Office Dublin.

As I dont really know anyone has done in this way, could someone give an accurate reply on it??

Cheers!

It depends.
I'm an Irish citizen, my wife is from a non-visa required country so we got her spouse visa here at the Garda station.
If the non-Irish person is from a visa required country I think they do need to apply from outside Ireland.

(By visa required I mean if they would normally need a visa to enter Ireland as a visitor, eg. Americans, Australians, Japanese don't need a visa to visit......Chinese, Indians, Russians do need a visa)
