Hi I need to apply for indefinite leave to remain after 6 years of discretionary leave. Can you please tell me whether I should do both an English test and life in the uk test or just the Life in the UK test. Thanks

There are no language (KoLL) requirements for those applying ILR after 6 years DLR.
These are my 'views' and 'opinions'.
If in doubt always seek professional advice, or at least do a search for the relevant information. :P

Thanks in Advance .
I was granted 3 years discretionary leave to remain in June 2012 as a result of refused Asylum case, In June 2015 I applied for Extension and got another 3 years Leave Valid until April 2019.
I need the advice on following:
- Can I apply for ILR in June 2018 as my 6 years are due to complete
- Can I apply through Premium service
- How much is fee including 3 dependant
- In 2015 (time of second extension) Home office returned my application fee and also Health surcharge, will I get fee exemption for ILR ?
- Do I need English text and life in the UK.
I will highly obliged for your kind advise.

You may apply for an application of ILR 28 days before or within 28 days of completing 6 years DLR. This is worked out by counting 6 years from your initial grant of DLR (June 2012 in your case) and then minus 28 days or within it.
- Can I apply through Premium service
recently, if you look up above in earlier posts, many members of the same category of DLR as you, all used SET(O) with the premium service and where successful, going by these cases I would say Yes you may.
- How much is fee including 3 dependant

For 3 dependents and yourself an application for ILR in total would be £2389.00 x 4 = £9556.00 plus if you go for the premium service appointment, that would be another £610.00 x 4 = £2440.

In total you would be looking at: £11,996.00 😲

- In 2015 (time of second extension) Home office returned my application fee and also Health surcharge, will I get fee exemption for ILR ?
No, there is no fee waiver for an application of ILR
- Do I need English text and life in the UK.
No, you are exempt based on the category route taken to be eligible for an application of ILR, however you will require the KoLL (life in the UK and the English B1 test for when you wish to naturalise as BC.)
I will highly obliged for your kind advise.

Hi friends.

To correct and paraphrase the above Text.

Hours involved in submitting an application

What are the expectations. PSC

Just an idea of the processing

Thanks

This entirely depends on how complex your case is and the evidence submitted at the PSC.

Every case is dealt individually on its merits and circumstances within the Immigration Rules.

Guys thanks for your reply

One more thing, can't book for premium

Was told no appointment in the next 45 business days at your selected location.

Can anyone help me with advice or had similar experiences in the past. I am worried now.

Because, my DLR will expire next month.

Thanks

Wait date were you looking to book for?

If you cannot get an appointment, you must apply by post before your visa expires.

You can submit your application at any of the premium service centres. Have you tried at midnight as new blocks become available.

There is no other way except online to book appointments. Croydon is the busiest centre and if you are not prepared to be flexible and try for slots at other centres, then you will have to apply by post.

What date exactly are you looking to apply on?

FLR(DL) form for ILR is only possibley by post. So no, you cannot 'switch' to premium service.

What application form did you use? Form FLR(DL) or SET(O)?

Where you granted DLR after a failed asylum application? Or non asylum?

Hi
I was granted DLR after failed asylum application. I used the correct Form FLR (DL). I actually wanted to go for premium service before applying but the available appointment dates were in June so I just thought that there was no need of me wasting money and have to wait a few months again.
But after reading timelines in postal applications being considered, I really believed I should have gone for premium service. I regret now 😔

Just for further clarification, you would have been able to book a PSC appointment if you had used form SET(O), furthermore if you submitted using SET(O) through postal for an application of ILR you could have upgraded to a premium appointment on request and then a subsequent payment.

As you have used form FLR(DL) for an application of ILR, this is postal only as mentioned by CR001 already.

Yeah, I am aware of that now but I couldn’t have used the other form because it wasn’t the appropriate form and I called also home office call centre and a gentleman told me that it wasn’t possible for me to apply for premium service as it was through failed asylum, and I listened to him because rules change all times with these people so I didn’t want to risk it.
But after reading on this forum, I should have gone for it but too late now, I will call my family for special prayers 😅😅😅 so that HO will deal with my case quicker 🙈🤣

do you think should i gumble and go for premium service to apply for ilr after 6 years decretionar leave after refusing asylum
in your experience di yiu know peopel done it in peo with same situation ?? waiting for reply i do have evry thing ready to post or use peo service
im bit confuse please share
Click here you may have to scroll down near the middle.

This is a list of some of the users at the time of that post that where refused for an application of asylum but where granted DLR and applied after 6 years of DLR for an application of ILR.

They all used form SET(O) with the premium service and where all successfully granted ILR, there was one member that had their application deferred for further checks but was granted ILR some weeks later.

Since that post, there have been more members under that route using SET(O) with PSC granted successfully.

I'll try and link get the other users for you if possible but those mentioned in that post you should be able to get a good idea from a bit of reading from them.

Hope it helps.
