Advice Needed-Spouse interview at BHC Islamabad

Post by DRS1983 » Fri Mar 14, 2008 2:04 pm

My husband has been invited for interview end of the month at Islamabad for his settlement visa.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated, Im very anxious about it. Have BHC been interviewing applicants lately?

Kindly also tell me after his interview, in how many days would they let him know their decision? Would he have to call Gerrys himself to find out?

Many Thanks

Has anyone else been interviewed by BHC ISB? Please do share your experience.

Do they let you know same time if they are issuing a visa? Or do you have to wait for a reply by post?

Many thanks

My wife was interview by BHC in Mumbai and was told the positive outcome immediately at the end of the interview. Though she did have to undergo medical check-ups before she got her passport back with the visa stamped.

Good luck

Thanks for your help, Parvez is it still a good sign to be called for interview? In Pakistan these days it seemed they weren't interviewing applicants who were sucessful.........

Yes, it is a good sign; at least your husband will get the chance to clarify any doubts the ECO may have about your application as opposed to just refusing your application outright without giving you a chance to explain/clarify the criteria on which they refuse your application.

It’s because they were successful that they didn’t need to be interviewed.

Don’t stress and try to think positively. Tell your husband to be confident and concise in his responses and I’m sure he’ll just breeze through the interview, inshAllah.

Goodluck..

Look at it this way DRS...

No, you’re not successful as you have not received the visa, YET!!... Also, it's neither good or bad that your husband has been invited to an interview; but at the end of the day you’ve NOT BEEN REFUSED and you still have the chance to secure a visa.

Just trust in your husband to “pull it out the bagâ€

Rani
I completely agree with Sammie. At least your husband has the opportunity to physically meet them and clarify any misunderstandings that the ECO may have rather than a straight refusal. I know that in India at least it's virtually impossible to meet ECOs at the British High Commission without being called for an interview. So I would say an invitation for an interview is definitely a good thing!

If all the paperwork was in order, the interview should be merely a formality. I know it's quite common in India at least for newly wedded couples. Not sure if the same applies in Pakistan, but I wouldn't be surprised if it does.

Good luck. Remain positive. Insha Allah it'll all work out for you all. Me and my wife have been in the same situation not so long ago. Feel free to get in touch if you need any further advice. :)

well for pakistan it isnt. i cant remember the last time anyone who i knew or througb family who had applied to bring either their hubby or wife over ever had to go for a interview in pakistan. i think they only call your for an interview if your documents are either missing or if their is some inconsistency in your file

Other then that they normaly just stamp it

That was unfortunate. Do you know why he was refused?
Is your sister going to appeal the decision or apply again?

Amia, sorry to hear that. Was your sister's husband rejected because your sister is on benefits? Are you referring to the same case?

The sponsor needs to be in full time employment. They will not accept public funds.

Hi

Can anyone tell me what causes the delay in non straight forward applications? I mean I am aware that they refer the application to the HO in the UK, but why does that necessarily have take long? Or does it depend on the number of applications being refered at that time?
