Hi smahaja1,
I had verified this with HO sometime back. They have confirmed me that you can show your funds in any bank anywhere in the world provided it should be in your name and your money should be immediately accessible. Immediately accessible means, if you have some money in fixed deposit kind of thing which you can't withdraw immediately is not considered. Only direct funds are considered.

I hope you are clear. if not let me know your exact case and/or problem. I will try to answer.

yes, as sankar mentioned you can show any overseas bank account

Extract from the bia:

funds held in a bank account overseas (we convert the amount to pounds sterling using the rate which appears on www.oanda.com and the date on your bank statement), that have been in your account

Hi... I will be applying for EC from India.. does anyone know if the amount of 2800 GBP can be split over multiple accounts or does it have to be in a single bank account?

hi hsmp1412,
please read the earlier postings. i have clarified that it can be any bank anywhere in the world (doesnt matter if u split), but it should be in your name and funds immediately accessible. if u have a join account then also no problem.

UK Tier 1 visas - April'08 applicant

Post by Jedi001 » Sat Apr 26, 2008 5:27 pm

I am planning to apply for UK Tier 1 and I would like know whether I can take a personal loan for Maintenance fund or not?

Has anyone applied for UK tier 1 from India and has shown personal loan for Maintenance fund (for 3 months in the bank account)?

Or Personal loan would not be considered?

I can arrange the money by saving it on monthly basis but then I will loose very precious time (7-10 months).

Please answer my questions........ANY advice from anyone will be greatly appreciated.

KInd Regards

Hi Shubhi

Your documents look good. I also submitted my birth certificate as VFS were still not adept at handling tier 1 applications. (I applied for tier 1 on 4th april from mumbai vfs).

It would be a good idea to get bank statements attested from bank for maintenance funds. (just to be on safer side).

They shall need final years marksheet for integrascreen. Do carry it.

I shall post details about my application once i receive my passport (hopefully stamped).

Cheers,
Kaushal

Hi Kaushal,
I guess , its not VFS , but British embassy/high commission who deals with the application & takes a decision.
But unfortunately , I cant attest my online bank statements since those are from US bank . But I read the guidelines , it laid down some criterias like Bank logo etc , which shud be thr , do u think it can be a problem ?

Have you submitted your Final year marksheets (just 2 semesters for BE)? OR as you are saying to carry it ..? I think , I am not responsible for Integra screening , VFS/British embassy will do it ..right ??

Pls let me know .

Many thanks

Hi smahaja1,
I hope that the money is in your savings account, right? If the bank is ready to give a letter, then definitely take that (it should be on bank's letter head with logo on it and your account number etc etc. clearly).

Still if you want to be 100% sure, its better that you call HO and discuss your case.

Thanks.

It will be better if you get the statement and apply otherwise they may not consider this month Salary.

However, I have friend who's HSMP got approved eventhough his Salary slip was missing for one month.
