Are you asking for before your husband joins you or after he joins you or is he already in the UK?

Do you meet the financial requirements to sponsor your husband for a spouse visa?

You can claim what you qualify for based on your earnings.

You must be honest in the form though and once your partner is in the UK, you will have to update all your benefit offices.

Thanks for the reply,

My concern is that i dont want to jeopardise the application on the basis that i recieve working tax credit and child tax credit.
I havent applied for working tax credit yet, i would like to confirm that it will not affect my application.
Àlso if i get dicount with rent or council tax - does that mean iam on public fund or jeopardise my application. There is so many advice on different pages and im very worried.

At the moment iam working full time. Ofcourse, have to update everywhere when my husband arrives as circumtances would have then changed.

If you could pls letme know. Really appreciate. Thank u

It shouldn't affect the application, but it might be wise to wait till he gets the visa.

What is your annual salary and how long have you been employed?

HMRC doe not give immigration or visa advice.

The guidance is clear what benefits are ignored for immigration purposes.

To claim before he comes, you claim in your name. Once he is here if he gets a visa, you must claim tax credits in joint names.

Hi, i completely missed out on this message that you sent earlier on. You mentioned "The guidance is clear what benefits are ignored for immigration purposes" where are these guidance notes, i have been on gov.co.uk website and dont seem to find it there. If you could please copy me the link.

Really appreciate your help. Thank u
