masterboy123 wrote: ↑Tue May 22, 2018 8:06 amThanks Broli I have seen your posts and found them helpful as you had a similar case as mine.
Do you know if EU3 is usually given in the 6 months time frame?
And can I apply for both the EU3 and citizenship at the same time?
broli wrote: ↑Wed May 23, 2018 8:00 amI Never heard about those checks may be if the suspect something.
They also targeting some group of nationalities (they also target marriage with eastern Europeans a lot more ) i think they could slowing or blocking some people citizenship if the suspect something i just saw the news.
Genuine people i hope will not be impacted.
@ Jul1 when i applied it was 6 months before Expiry on the website they say applied 6 months before --however they gave me 9 months temporary permit (which is an extension of 3 month on the same week i applied ). because they knew it takes up to 9 months i think.
Easy case you wife worked for 5 years straight you could get it fast some got in 1 month 2 months or before 6 months
I got EU3 after 9 months but my case was more resident on suffiscient funds so a lot of documents. Citizenship even came faster for me 6 months approx .
@masterboy just follow the rules apply for EU3 as per rule and citizenship as per rule no need to them on the same day.
I went for EU3 6months exactly before expiry and citizenship 2 days after i became eligible whatever comes first
Yes i applied quickly because i planned to leave the country for few years and i was only waiting for EU3 or Citizenship so if you are not in hurry like you can still take your time and applied for them at the same time .
Note : i do not proof read trying to help but very busy
broli wrote: ↑Wed May 23, 2018 3:44 pmDoes the time period starts from Temporary 6 months stamp 4 or can short term C visa can be considered in also? its start from the date on letter you got granting 6months stamps i used the date on letter because i took my gnib 1 week later.
And did you get EU3 application approved within 6 months? No i got approved exactly 3 days before my new temp permit expired so 8 month 25 days
I have always updated EU treaty right office by post about change of address and new job contract and payslips of EU spouse. (Did you update GNIB office i didnt and they were happy about GNIB office should be updated on any change of address)
So have people applied for EU3 application 9 months before their Stamp4EUFAM expired? NO you can only apply 6 months before as per guidelines ...probably they give you a 9 months extension like me. Example my Eu4FAM expired on 21 december 2018 i applied in june 21 2018 and the same week they sent letter granting me 9 month stamp as they know it takes long enough.)
Here is the general trend i noticed that most EU4FAM EU3 get approval at latest on the 3 to 1 day before temp visa expiry.
Your case is very easy IMO so be happy because mine was a complete mess i had to clarify a lot of thing as my wife was never working but self suffiscient.
You do not lose you job if approval is not out in nine month as per info on website go to GNIB with wife but you case is straight forward. (Of course marriage has to be clearly genuine)

Where did you read this guideline that we can apply for EU3 application 6 months before expiry of stamp4eufam only? If I apply exactly 6 months before expiry of stamp4eufam then that's exactly the right time to apply for Irish citizenship also, bcoz it will exactly be 5 years (6 months on temporary stamp + 4.5 years stamp4eufam)
Thanks again for all your help

if u get a 9 months extension than its ok to apply 6 months before the expiry date of the stamp4 eufam card. Altough if INIS runs out of that 9 months u can actually lose ur job, though ur legally here, u just cannot prove it with a valid card, but u cant do anything about this other than apply in time and well organise ur documents.
So being here for 4.5 years overall, u can apply on eu3, and after being here for 5 years u can apply for citizenship. Very likely u will get ur permanent card before ur citizenship.
jul1 wrote: ↑Sun May 27, 2018 11:44 amfor the reckonable residency the period should start when u entered the country on the visa c, with eu spouse, not from the date when u were originally accepted for temporary card.
Cause u were accepted means that u were here legally from the day u entered the country
broli wrote: ↑Mon May 28, 2018 12:20 pmYou must report change of address to the local police (as per law you could go to Prison for not doing they told they only gave me a lecture). You have to Update EUTR + GNIB each of them only for address.
For exemple one day at the airport they asked my address and it was not the same in their system , they asked where was my wife "i confirmed she is at home in my new address" they told me to update address. I was shocked because i update EUTR with my new address 2 times .
So its sort of important you dont want to run into a suspicious airport garda .
EUTR amd GNIB dont have the same database it seems.
C is not a stamp its merely en entry visa category for 90 days not a resident permit
What count is stamp 4 the day you get the letter confirming 6 months that is you first stamp (resident permit).
Dont even count if you apply for 10 years stamp only rule is "Apply 6 months before your EU4FAM expires". really simpleirish786 wrote: ↑Mon May 28, 2018 4:51 pmBroli@

u did not fill the application date on the beginning of the calculator, that is why it is not calculatedmasterboy123 wrote: ↑Mon May 28, 2018 11:43 amWhen I write stamp C in the residency calculator then it doesn't show up any days. Not sure if stamp C is same as Visa C?
Anyone has experience if Visa C was counted towards reckonable residence?
