Possible to visit the UK while a settlement visa is processing?

I've just sent off my documents to be processed at UKVI, for the meantime I'm staying in Germany.
I'm a Canadian citizen, so i sent off my current Canadian passport to the UK as is required.
However, I do have dual citizenship so I have an Argentine passport that I can travel with.
Would it be a bad idea to travel to the UK with this passport, and will it affect my visa application?
