Can I track the status of my FLR(M) application?

My question is all in the subject really. I looked everywhere but couldn't find the answer; maybe it's not possible - but would be cool to find out.

No, there is no longer an online status check system. HO removed it in December last year.

Oh well, never mind. I saw a few threads mentioning tlscontact and thought "hey, what a great idea; must be why the visa costs so much, because they really care about the whole customer service experience thing etc."

How wrong was I?

TLS Contact is for application outside the UK and not for FLR(M) extensions though.

Yes, I realised that from the choice of countries available in the drop down list (UK was missing).

We are 4 weeks into the application and therefore 4 weeks away from being overly concerned. My biggest worry is the thought of calling them and listening to the same "on hold" music repeat itself 60 times before actually speaking to someone.
