FLR(M) - BRP - Work questions

Post by limey10 » Wed Jun 06, 2018 7:14 pm

Hi All,

Application for FLR went in about a month ago. My wife's BRP is valid until June 10th. Her works manager asked her is she still eligible to work and if so, what proof can she give - which would also be a question should she get stopped by any government official i.e., police.

We have the acknowledgement letter from the Home Office; but this does not give any details about such matters.

Does any one have any experience about this?

Thanks, Phil

What is your immigration status? And what type of visa your partner is holding?

If the application for an extension is submitted before the current visa expires, she is covered by Section 3C of the immigration rules, which means even if her current visa expires, her visa conditions continue as she submitted an in time application.

The acknowledgement letter should have her reference and the employer can use the online system to check her right to work.

Then she will be covered by virtue of section 3c which carry forward the same rights until the application decision time.
