Dependant visa Canadian permanent resident

Post by Shanda » Tue Jun 05, 2018 6:46 am

Please can you help.

My son who is a permanent resident in Canada is having problem coping on his own and has been in hospital suffering with mental health. He has has just had his third episode and is in hospital now. I am a permanent resident here in UK and would like to ask if it’s possibl to apply for an adult dependant visa for him to come over. I worry day and night about him.

Thanking you in advance for any advise you give.

How did you acquire your permanent residency? Is it under EU law or UK law (ILR)?
I am not a lawyer or immigration advisor. My statements/comments do not constitute legal advice. E&OE. Please do not PM me for advice.

Adult Dependent visa is very difficult to get and if applied for and refused, the door to visit visas will also likely be shut.

The link below explains the difficult requirements you/he would have to meet.

You don't state how old your son is??

Why did he not join you in the UK as a minor when you came on a visa??

He won't qualify for an adult dependent relative visa under the UK immigration rules based on what you have stated.

He would need to find a visa he qualifies for in his own right.
