Do you have a travel document? (Required)
A travel document is a certificate issued by a governing body (in the UK or abroad) which acts as a temporary form of identification and allows you to travel internationally without a passport.

2. Grandparent details
Provide details of your grandparent from whom your mother or father derived British citizenship by descent.

Do they have a passport??

Grandparent details no usually required if child's parents are naturalised British.

Have you read the MN1 guidance notes??

Thanks a lot. I think that question in online application is wrong. They should removed that.

The question might be relevant to someone who DOES have a travel document.

The same form is used by many different route applicants.

Simply answer the questions as relevant. If travel document is not relevant, then answer NO.

It is really important to realise that WE cannot see what you are seeing online or what you are being asked. We only have access to the paper form.

If you have completed the BRP and passport details, logic says you say NO to travel document and NO to identity card.

BRP Card going to expire on 17 july 2018

Post by laatif » Mon Jun 25, 2018 4:36 pm

Hi,

My kids BRP card is going to expire next month on 17 july 2018. I am thinking to apply for registration before 17 july instead of renewing the card. Please advise me if this is not the right approach.
Should I renew the BRP card first and then apply for the registration?
or should I apply directly for the registration as British citizen

Please advise on this

thanks
ali

"Should I renew the BRP card first and then apply for the registration?"

I haven't renewed my kids BRPs before applying and this all went well.

One thing, you must renew BRP within 3 mo after it has expired. I applied for BC for my kids before the 3 mo deadline. Not sure if it matters at all.
