First Passport for Baby

Post by geezer » Sun Jul 01, 2018 7:35 pm

Dear All,
We want to apply for our 3 month old baby's first passport; These are the facts;

1. Baby born in UK with UK birth certificate
2. Father is British - Naturalised (even before our marriage 2 years ago)
3. Mother is on Spouse Visa
4. We are both married (2 years)
5. At time of birth both married, father British and Mother on spouse visa

Now we are confused,
Can we apply directly for a passport or do we have to fill form MN1 and then apply for passport.

Many thanks for all your kind help.

If at the time of the baby's birth, either of the parent has atleast the status of ILR or Naturalised/British Citizen, you can apply for your baby's passport directly (i.e no need for MN1).
If in case, the baby was born when either of the parent didn't had atleast ILR, then the baby has to be Naturalised first using MN1 form.
