Help Regarding RLMT: Discrepancy in Job Posting

Post by JessSang » Tue Jul 03, 2018 5:47 pm

Hi Folks,

My employer just offered me a job and will be applying for CoS over the next couple of days. I was told that there is a slight discrepancy in the 2 job postings that were online.

One job posting (FindaJob) states the salary as 55000 to 60000 while other job posting (monster) states the salary as 55000 to 65000. The salary I am being offered is 56000.

Do you think this discrepancy in the Job Postings could be ground for rejection of either CoS or our Visa?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

Thanks,
Jess

Thanks for your reply. The Job Posting on Universal Jobmatch states the salary limit as 55000 to 60000 and the one on the monster site states 55000 to 65000. I am being offered 56000.

Don't see why this would be an issue. Your salary is within that range. The point of the salary offered being in the RLMT advertised range is so that they don't offer you a salary higher than that range / than was offered to the resident labour market. For example, if they offered you 70k, the argument could be made that someone might have applied if they had known the salary was 70k but didn't because the advertised limit was 65k. Hence why it wouldn't be valid or fair.

Your challenge may be to prove that your current employer hasn't pre-selected you for the role in favour of other applicants who are British or settled and suitable for the position.

Please don't send me PMs asking for immigration advice on posts that are on the open forum. If I haven't responded there, it's because I don't have the answer. I'm a moderator, not a legal professional.

Thanks Casa. Yes I hope that should not be the issue since I applied for the job through the postings. Appreciate your response.

As long as one of the adverts is advertised the same salary range as what it says on Universal Jobmatch, you will be fine. Don't even need to mention the other one that's different

Thanks UKLL, But do we not need to show 2 job postings, one on universal Jobmatch (Findajob) and the one other?
