Tier 2 extension - do you need to do another English Language Test ?

Post by Happycar » Wed Jul 04, 2018 10:06 pm

Hi there,
I searched but couldn't find the answer on this. My apologies if it has been asked before.
Tier 2 renewal in the same job. Previous certificate by Cambridge English issued on May 2015.
Does this need to be retaken again for Tier 2 extension appointment that will take place in August 2018 ?
Reading the HO guidelines, it says the certificates validity lasts for 2 years, but I wasn't sure if this was for your initial application, or can you use the same 2015 certificate for the extension 3 years later ?
Thanks very much

150. You will be awarded 10 points if you are applying for leave to remain under Tier 2
(General),
Tier 2 (Sportsperson) or Tier 2 (Minister of Religion) and you meet the
requirements of one of the categories listed below:
• you are a national of a majority English speaking country; or
• you hold a degree that was taught or researched in English which must be equivalent
to a UK Bachelors degree or above; or
• you have passed an English language test at the appropriate level; or
• you have met the English language requirements when given a previous grant of
leave; or
• you qualify under the transitional arrangements.
