Tier 1 - Qualification/Experience Required?

Post by PineappleThief » Wed Jul 11, 2018 4:55 pm

Hello,

I'm wondering if prior business experience or qualification is absolutely necessary in order to be accepted for Tier 1 Entrepreneur visa?

I ask because I'm afraid I want to do a business in the Hospitality sector (hotel/b&b) and hold a science degree with no hospitality experience to show. Would that be a problem to obtain Tier 1 Entrepreneur visa? anyone else could share their experience with non-relevant degree and background?

I would greatly appreciate if marcnath and other knowledgable members could help! :)

The immigration rules do not set out any such requirement and I don't think non-relevant degree is unlikely to be an issue.

But there is a requirement for a Business Plan and HO can use a balance of probabilities to assess that.

So, as long as you can show in your business plan that there is a rationale for the business and the lack of experience can be addressed, you can make your arguments.

No guarantee of success but up to you to try.
My comments are in no way meant to be advisory. I have no professional knowledge of immigration. These are based on my own experience, convictions and personal interpretation of publicly available information.
