Surrender Indian passport

Once you get a british passport, do you have to surrender your Indian passport back to the Indian high commission. Because I read that holding Indian passport when you get a new british passport is a crime.

Please help this confused soul......

I dont know why you are confused.

Once you acquire any foreign nationality, you have to surrender your Indian passport. You can send your passport by post to them along with a letter saying that you have re3ceived foreign nationality. They will cancel your passport, cut off the corners & send it back to them. Its all easy & straight forward.

Do you mean they will give me back my cancelled indian passport?

Reason i check, i have my H1b on that...
