Spouse arriving to Ireland before work permit holder

Post by Nokiabox » Sun Jul 15, 2018 8:56 pm

My Frind is moving to Ireland, however for logistical and work reasons his wife would like to arrive few days before him with the kids,

They all have their visas stamped on the passports.

Is there a role around him having to be in country before her?

Thanks in advance

I don’t think there is a requirement that the work permit holder must be in the country before the spouse but it sounds logical to me. The immigration officer at the point of entry might question this so I would say be ready to provide the reasons and also have a way to contact the work permit holder ( good phone number) just in case the officer wants to double check something.
