Hi all :)

I’ve been lurking for days during this rather stressful experience.

I have a few questions since I’m new to this whole process. What does non-sol mean?

Secondly, you’re all seeming to know your points but when I asked my employer (a secondary school) about this she said she didn’t know.

I tried looking it up online but so many different websites have different points.

My employer did the RLMT since my teaching position isn’t on the shortage list. I am being paid the appropriate salary for my job which is £29,878 per annum. So, based on that how many points should I have?

Also, we put this through at the end of May so it would go through in June, however, we were told on 21 June that they required my contract and my passport and current biometrics card. That then changed my application to under review. It is now pending, is this a good sign? Obviously, since the school year starts 3 September I am starting to worry I won’t be here in time. Does anybody have any advice?

Sorry for the long message! I thank you all in advance.

Are you sure that's the salary you'll be getting? You have to be making £30,000 a year to qualify if your job is not on the shortage list. Do you have extra guaranteed allowances? What year are you teaching?

The table here isn't as cut and dry for teachers, so I can't tell if there is a 'new entrant' position for under 26 teachers?

Tier 2 visa requirements: https://www.gov.uk/tier-2-general/eligibility
Yes I had seen that. Teachers are apparently exempt from this as we are on a certain pay scale. Therefore, we are paid “the appropriate rate” since all the visa information says either 30.000 or the appropriate rate for your job.

What do you mean under 26?

The exception looks like:

Secondary education teaching
professionals – subject teachers in
maths, physics, chemistry, computer
science and Mandarin only (2314)

Or shortage occupation list. What's your job code?

I mean under 26 in age, for other professions, there is a 'new entrants' salary which is less for those under 26 years old.

Compared to May, where refusals started to come on 4 th working day, this month we still see approvals on 5th working day. Hope it touches further down from current 44 points.

Hi everyone,

Congratulations to everyone who have received their RCOS.

I've just got a couple of questions. When people say NHS or non NHS - do they just mean doctors and nurses who are now exempt? Or do other professions that work in the NHS have any other advantages / exclusions etc?

Also, can I ask why people are so confident the minimum points will continue to fall in August? I mean, it would be great if it did, but its been over subscribed for so long, and there have been massive jumps, i.e. from 21 to 45/50 in one month late last year.

The jumps were mainly accredited to a shortage in the health and medical sector, and the snowball effect this had during months with low available allocations(This differs as the months go on) and the knock on effects this had, even up to last month .

A lot of those numbers or certificates formed part of the general pool of Restricted Certificates and has since been removed.

This month was the first month where said alleviation took effect and the results are clear.

Looking at historical data we should be able to confidently predict that the numbers will go down, seeing that there were 1 272 applications refused just between 60 and 45 in last month (numbers available earlier in this thread)

We know there were definitely 2 187 allocations available and so far we are down to 44, the lowest in months!

PS: August also has 2000+ allocations, so we're also hoping that things equalise before the drop in available certificates. This shouldn't cause too much of a problem.

Then obviously we'd all like to get this over and move on with our lives :P

I am an NHS doctor, I have been told I should get the CoS by the end of this week. Have you tried talking to the sponsorship team?

They asked me to wait also. But did your employer say that your cos has been approved and they will only send you by end of week ?

Approved at 50 points, non-PhD, non-NHS, and non-SOL! It’s been 4 months! Good luck, everyone!
Hi Vinchart! Congratulation! May I know how you will apply for your visa? Are you a direct hire from UK? I will also apply for a work visa, but I am confused with regards to the POEA procedures. Thank you in advance for your response!

On phone they told me it is ready to be issued. In the mail, they just told me I should get it by the end of this week. So I’m just gonna wait for a couple of days and then get back to them if needed.

Guys,

Anyone here under SOL still waiting?
My company received an email on 10th asking for further information, they answer at the same day to HO. Nothing back until this moment 😓

Thanks
Hi

I’m in a similar situation, my company responded on 10th and I’m still waiting for the result
55 points, non sol , non nhs
Hi,

Me too! I discussed today with HR and the responsible told me in this cases is NORMAL take more time because Home Office must analized the data before sent the RCoS. Next week we shall be informed about the results, if everything is correct no worries :)

I´m waiting with 55 points non SOL!
Hi

My employer mentioned it might take another week for my results to come through as we submitted additional documents on 10th of July

55 points, non sol , non nhs

I am still waiting on 45k. It still shows under review. Surprisingly, but positive there wasn't a single refusal/rejection posted this month. Can we still think that the allocation process is still ongoing or complete for this month?
If experts could pitch in it would help ease a bit of tension for we waiters.

Thanks

"we waiters" should take solace in the fact that complete bands get cleared, so if you're at 45 and still waiting, you'll be okay (if your application was correct of course).

It's not easy (been here since December), but try and relax, you've made it :)

Thanks. Had logged in this month but was a old timer myself. Had been following the forums since feb and been applying since then. So I guess I could get some brownie points there 😆

Hi,

My employer has re-applied this month with 60K Salary which sum to 60 points. I am non NHS, Non Sol.

Hoping 60 points should go through this month. I am sure that new Visa rules are applicable from 6th July, and also one more interesting thig is nearly 100 certficates has been carried of from june as well.
i am in the same situation, my employer will apply in August with 60 points. so what are the odds of getting the certificate in the same month? a response will be much appreciated. what are the new rules

Do you mind sharing your allowances details?

In terms of your question- your being ICT dependent has no bearing on points whatsoever.
