Got Approval !!!!!!!!!!! October Applicant

Post by Raghu » Sat Mar 05, 2005 4:36 pm

The wait is finally over !!!!!!!!!!!! :) :) :) Just found out from my family that my documents along with the approval letter reached them today in Bangalore, India. Details on my app are as below

Ref No : 029XXX
Status : Out of Country(From Dubai) / Under 28
App Recvd at HO : 20th Oct 04
Payment Deducted : 22nd Oct 04
Approval Letter Dated : 21st Feb 05 (The best bday gift ever !! Bday was on 22nd Feb & just turned 28!)
Docs reached Bangalore, India : 5th Mar 05
Points applied for :
Under 28 - 5
Graduate Degree (B.Com from Bangalore Univ, India) - 15
Work Exp (4 years graduate with 34 months specialist exp) - 50 (possibly got 35 for 4 yrs exp)
Earnings (complex case !! I had just moved to Dubai in June 04, so applied for pro-rata. 8 months earnings in India and 4 months Dubai. Tax certs only for 6 months of Indian salary which I calculated pro rata for 12 months but explained everything with clear letter showing calculations which I got my CA to certify and put on his letter head!!) - 35

So thats a total of 105 I asked for ... am thinking worst case I got 5+15+35+25 = 80

I work in the Financial Services sector (currently Regional Head for an leading Asset Management Company based out od Dubai) and there seems to be enough recognition of HSMP among the recruitment consultants as well opportunities (though not at the same level as I lack UK exp - but thats ok!).

I hope all this info helps those who are applying and those still waiting. I know it can be frustrating for the June-Nov applicants ...... I was one of them just a few hours ago. Don't give up and just hang in there ... ofcourse PRAY & PRAY some more !!

Thanks to everyone on this board - can't imagine getting thru this without this board !!

Special thanks to Mini who helped me with lots of urgent questions and ofcourse told me to hang in there !

Cheers !!!! :D

Congratulations to you. All the best of luck for you with your EC. I can see how delighted you must have been especially after the times had been static at June 10, you must have been thinking that yours will only be done in may or june this year.

Thanks Gunjan, iyanu & f2k !

I figured I would hear from them only in June/July ... so this was a major surprise. I don't know if my mail to them complaining about the slow service had anything to do with it. I did mention my ref no in the email.

Am chilled about the EC cos the folks at the British Embassy in Dxb are very nice. I have already got a visit visa as well as student dependant visa (with rights to work till 31st jan 2006). Now I need to have that cancelled and apply for the HSMP. Hope they won't have an issue as the HSMP is addressed to my home in India.

Cheers,
Raghu
