Visa status for extension application

I and my husband have filed extension of ICT tier 2 Long term but haven't heard anything back.

We gave biometric on 28th june 2018. Received application consideration letter on 4th july.
Post that no updates and its 7th week finishing after 4th july letter.
Our visa is expiring on 27th Aug which is exactly 8 weeks as per home office timelines.
We are very much tensed what will happen after next week.
I am on spouse visa and just started my new job.
With no reason I will have to resign next week just to follow notice period.

Any help or pointer very much appreciated.

Calm down. No need to resign or stress.

If you applied for an extension before your current visas expired, you are protected by Section 3C of the immigration rules, which means your existing visa conditions continue until HO makes a decision on your applications.

Yes but we have no idea what will be the outcome.
This is not transparent at all.
One of our collegue received in 4weeks only.
He got on 12th july.

There is no platform or a way to contact HO that we are still waiting at the end of 8 weeks or now?

We did bio metric on 28th june and received new brp on 21st August.

Took almost 8 weeks.
