Qualified Person: income requirement for being self-employed

Post by nordsee » Mon Aug 13, 2018 3:20 pm

Hi all,

I've tried to find something on this topic, but failed so far.

What is the income requirement for being a qualified person through self employment? Is it the same as for being employed (i.e. reaching an income level which makes NI contributions obligatory)?

Thanks in any case.

Best wishes,

Nordsee

Consulting with many solicitors this is what I have gathered

There is no minimum income requirements for EEA citizen to quality for the Permanent residence
As a self employed you have to demonstrate the work was genuine and effective
The reason behind this is as it’s below the PET(primary earning threshold)Home office would like to see the reason of earning below the PET level but as I said there is no minimum income requirement for self employed EEA citizen to be qualified person

I am not a solicitor, this is my personal opinion

Thanks, Irfan. I couldn't really find anything.
But why is it so hard to find an official source?

Just an update,

It just proved in my own successful application,
No minimum earning was required
