Problem - HELP!

Post by MajorProblem » Tue May 13, 2008 9:56 pm

My sister got married to a man from Bangladesh, he used her to gain a UK Passport - its been 6 months now and she has found out that he was using her for UK citizenship.

How do we go around by getting him de-ported back to Bangladesh.

Why can't your sister just go through divorce proceedings instead of going through getting him deported to have peace of mind, then wish him a happy life

Is he already a British citizen or permanent resident, or does he still have his spouse visa?

You might want to read Martha's story for more information:

However, no one has the right to get someone deported; only the Home Office/judges have such power and it isn't up to you, your sister or anyone else.

Your sister can ONLY write to the Home Office that she has withdrawn support for her husband and they are currently not living together/in the process of divorcing.

If he has British citizenship or ILR then there is nothing that can be done about him now. She would just have to move on.

Well that would mean that he lied to the Home Office. Using her is a form of deception. I believe that there is a part of the FLR form that deals with that.

Majorproblem,
can you give some more info please so we can offer the right advice?
Does your sisters husband have ILR yet? Is he currently on a spouse visa?
Has your sister started divorce proceedings?
Sadly, this kind of story is quite common. You can read my story. sakura has posted the link for you.
If he is still on a spouse visa, she has some options open to her.
