Friends,

With all your guidance/suggestions finally all my documents/Cover letters seems to be in order and am ready to send my filled Tier 1 application and dependent application form this saturday.

There are small things which is still nagging me

1. My Name in BE certificate and indian bank statements is

Gopa Kumar N but in passport my name is expanded Gopa Kumar Narayanan as N stands for Narayanan which is the way my name is shown in all India/UK payslips and HSBC bank statements as they insists your name to be given as per the passport.

So will it cause any problem? Do i need to mention this explicitly in the tier 1 application form where they ask "Were you know by any other name" and cite BE certicate/Driving License as proof?

2. I'am planning to send my application by royal mail special delivery next day service
Please confirm to which address i need to send

UK Border Agency
Tier 1 (General)
PO Box 496
Millburngate House
Durham
DH99 1WQ

or the other address given for sending application by courier

UK Border Agency
Tier 1 (General)
Millburngate House
Durham
DH99 1SA

As i understand from royal mail website for special delivery there should be some one sign the item. So i think we need to send to the courier address. Those who have already send the application please guide me.

And Abhishek ,

Congrats and all the best. Really happy that yours and dependent's applications got approved.

I'am sure, but still please confirm that we have to send dependent application form also filled along with the main applicant form

Thanks
Kris

Hi Kris,

Thanks and all the best for your application. The correct address is

Border and Immigration Agency
Tier 1 (General )
P.O. Box 496
Mil lburngate House
Durham
DH99 1WQ

Also I sent the filled application form along with my application in the same envelop. ( Since if you send it separetly it is chargable)

I am not too sure about the name thing. Best way is to call up home office and get it clarified. Ph. 0114 270 4074.

Let me know if there are any other queries.

Hi:

I am considering applying under the Tier-1 scheme, and have a query regarding the application.

The complication in my case is that I overstayed in the UK for 3 days after the LTR on my first WP expired. My employer then filed for a new work permit and I was back here in the UK after one month. I am not showing this one month for my previous earnings qaulification.

1. Could someone please let me know if the 3 day overstay would cause disqualification of the application?

I would really appreciate some valuable feedback on this post.

Thanks.

Congrats Abhishek, all the very best and have a fantastic weekend! you reciept letter was 1 day before mine, so it makes sence (in my head at least) for mine to come monday - even though I know it doesnt work like that!!!

I have completed AMIETE (B.TECH) from Institution of Electronics and Telecommunication ... Delhi lodhi road .

The above Institution is not in list of BIA .

I called NARIC also they told that IETE (http://www.iete.org/) also not in their list .

As far as I know, AMIETE is a membership certification and considered quivalent to graduate level only in India (and that too only by government departments/institutions).

It is likely that AMIETE will not be equivalent to British bachelors standards, but the only way to find out is through NARIC. You can apply for a NARIC letter of comparison to be sure.

Sorry, but no alternative here.

I agree to rahsmp. The institutions are not necessarily listed but the universities are. In my case also, my coll. is not listed but my univ. is.
