Bridging Visa for Tier 2 General?

Post by TD84 » Wed Sep 05, 2018 9:20 pm

Good evening,

Please help me with my concern, I came here in April 25, 2014 as a nurse on a Tier 2 General , I transferred to another hospital which then gave me sponsorship visa that will expire on january 1, 2019. Which then I will be short of the 5 year requirement by around 4 months only unfortunately. My question is, is there a bridging visa for this specific circumstance or should I renew or extend my visa for another year to be eligible for ILR. And if so, how early can I apply? Because I have been reading and some articles say it’s 3 months before, others say anytime and also 28 days before the visa expires.

Thank you in advance!

No there is no such thing as a 'bridging visa'.
should I renew or extend my visa for another year to be eligible for ILR.
Yes, you need to apply for an tier 2 extension, a 1 year extension yes.
And if so, how early can I apply? Because I have been reading and some articles say it’s 3 months before, others say anytime and also 28 days before the visa expires.
You can apply at any time.
