Lost "Life in the UK” certificate

Post by trilobite1981 » Tue Sep 18, 2018 3:43 pm

Hi

I am completing my citizenship (naturalisation) online forms.

Unfortunately I cant find my “Life in the UK” test original certificate. So, I rang the HomeOffice helpline (thanks to this forum) and they advised me to send a covering letter with the details where and when I sat for the test.

Now I am wondering whether I should send a separate covering letter or should I use the “Other Information” section at the end of the form. Probably that section is not for this purpose as it says “Do you have any other details that you would like to be considered regarding this applicant and their application to be registered as a British Citizen?”

Should I write a separate letter?

Should I leave the “Other Information” blank?

Thanks all.

Should I write a separate letter? Use separate cover letter is better.

Should I leave the “Other Information” blank? Just mention the original LIUK test lost.

Have you used this test result for ILR? If so, do you have copy? You can include your copy is also OK. The HO has record that you passed the test and used this for ILR application.

Thanks all.

If you have ILR and you had submitted the LITUK certificate as a part of an ILR application, it is likely that the LITUK certificate was retained by the Home Office and it should be on your record with them anyway (as a part of your ILR application).

I took mine back in 2006 and the Home Office had record of it, I saw it via my SAR request

I am in the exact same boat. I've only got a photocopy of my test results, and the confirmation email from the test centre reminding me of my test date. Will this be alright?

Any update from OP whether or not the application was successful?
