Claiming benifit

Post by Aishnee » Sun Sep 16, 2018 3:51 pm

Hello There

I’m having refugee states in UK which i received on Feb 2017. At that time i got same refugee status for my 2 kids as well. But my wife(married) didn’t get as she wasn’t included as a dependent in my case when I apply asylum and she was a failed asylum seeker with reporting condition. However I applied for housing benifit , chid tax credit and tax credit on Feb 2017 and since then receiving all the benefits.however at that time they asked my partners details and I given her details as it is and she also receiving letters on her name from HMRC every year with regards to my Tax credit claim.
However she now received spouse visa for 2 1/2 year on Aug 2018 which says No PUBLIC funds.
So what shall I do now? Will anyone can help me to what to do or is this will be create any problem in future for both of us to go for any settlement

You can claim whatever benefit that you are entitled to in your name but your wife will not be able to claim anything whilst on spouse visa.

You are worrying too much. If it mentions her name so what? She is not entitled to benefit anyway it is YOU who is entitled to it.
