Re: Tier1 Status enquiry

Post by shivaa » Tue May 20, 2008 10:14 am

If you go thro the old posts, you can get it...
01142074074

After the initial message, press 1 for Tier1 application

After 5 minutes waiting, you may get disconnected

or get the second message to ask you to get your reference number ready.

Then several seconds later somebody will answer your phone.

you may need try several times.

Re: Panic mode

Post by sidshekhar » Tue May 20, 2008 11:25 am

I had applied for Tier 1 on 11 April and the application reached on 14 April, Payment processed on 18th April and Reference letter issued on 21st April. I have seen in the status list that there are people who have applied on 16th April have got theirs approved but I haven’t got my docs or decision. They said it was allocated to case worker on 16th May.
Does anyone have clue what criteria they use to deal with cases. How do you count 28 days for processing time. Is it 28 days from when reference letter was issued or date they received the application.

Please advice.

I am in panic mode now

Definitely the count starts at the time of payment ..becz they consider appln after that only...so your count down starts from 18th april...
As so many told earlier you cant get proper information from contact center...even if your decision made also.so be confident...it may on the way to you....

Points for Previous Earnings can be claimed in respect of any single, consecutive 12 month period from the 15 months immediately prior to the date of application.

Salaries are credited for the month (01 to 31), so earnings are usually related to whole months and not exact dates within the month. So IMHO you should be fine.

If the caseworker goes by book, he/she will pro-rate your 4 days (1-mar-07 to 4-mar-07) salary and deduct that from your 12 months salary. If this deduction doesn't make any difference in your points, then there will be no issue. This is just my personal interpretation.
In the worst case, they may not consider your whole one month's earning i.e. the amount that you earned in Mar-07 as it's beyond the 15 months window. If you earned enough in remaining 11 months to claim the required points, then there shouldn't be any issue.

In your covering letter, previous earning computation sheet, you yourself can pro-rate 4-days salary and show the rest of the amount.

IEven now itself you apply with 1/3/2007 to 29/2/2008 statements...
I think you got quite confused about 15 month period...The thing is at the time of application, your previous earning should be with in 15 months ..either it may be first 12 months or last 12 months...hope you get clear...

14 weeks??? WOW! Some memebers are saying that the applications received on or after 17th April are still to be allocated to a case worker and some are saying it could take 14 weeks. Has anyone got futher information on this? I urgently need my passport back. Have a job offer in the waiting which I cannot accept without my passport :?

HSMP Extension Under Tier-1 Applicants

Post by neel17 » Tue May 20, 2008 8:39 pm

***** HSMP Extension Under Tier-1 Applicants ****

My question to those who recently got HSMP extension under Tier-1. I would appreciate if any one would reply...

What is the look of the extension visa; does it say "RESIDENCE PERMIT" on the top of the visa?
Nowhere on the visa it is written "further leave to remain".

On my extension visa following is written :-
Visa type - Tier 1 (General) migrant
Limited leave to remain in the UK.

Is this same for everyone who recently received extension?

Answer to this will be useful for all those who recently got extension or planning to apply.

Thnak you

Hi neel17,
I am stil waiting for a decision on my application for extension under Tier1 General. After having received my passport if it is stamped, I 'll update everybody what does it say on the stamp. I think I am the only applicant in this forum whose application has been delayed for more than 2 and half months. I applied in march but no response as yet. my visa has already expired but i dont care and am continuing with my employment here in the UK. I dont know how long it may further take to them to reach a decision on my application.

details:

type: extension from HSMP to Tier 1 general
Applied: 14th March
received ref no. 17th March
Docs received: none
decision: awaited.

hope to keep intouch

regards,
saint

Seems like approvals have frozen. Cant see anyone who has got dogs back who applied after 17th April. I applied on 6th may. So it looks like long wait before I can expect anything.

I applied on 8th May and my credit card has been charged on 9th May,
I got my Reference no by calling the customer support....but i'm yet to recieve a letter from HO stating my reference no..so how many days does it take for HO to send an reference letter?

2nd my case is an staright forward i.e converting from WP to Tier-1 with all my earnings in UK itself...so on an average what is the time frame for HO to decide on WP to Tier-1 swicth over cases..

The BIA says it can take anywhere between 4 weeks to 14 weeks to process an application. I would say (based on feedback on the forum) that the average time line is around 5-7 weeks in general.

The reference letter is usually issued on the same day that your payment is cleared but when does one receive it is dependent on whether it is to be delivered within UK or outside UK. Please note that it is sent using 2nd class post in UK and general airmail post for outside UK.

Irrespective of where you apply from or which category you swtich from, the application goes into a general queue. If BIA does follow a process of prioritizing applications, it is probably unknown to anyone on this forum.

Some Info on Tier 1 Times

Post by anxiouswait » Wed May 21, 2008 4:24 pm

Called HO today to enquire the status of my application. The lady told me that my application hasn't been allocated to a case worker yet (I applied on the 25th of april). Apparently, the 28 days time limit that is stipulated in the letter when we receive our reference number is the number of days it takes for the HO to allocate a application to a case worker. From then, it could take anywhere from 4 Hours to 7 weeks to reach a decision and post the documents back to us.

Hope this is helpful.

The reference letter is usually issued ont the same day that your payment is cleared but when does one receive it is dependent on whether it is to be delivered within UK or outside UK. Please note that it is sent using 2nd class post in UK and general airmail post for outside UK.

Irrespective of where you apply from or which category to swtich from, the application goes into a general queue. If BIA does follow a process of prioritizing applications, it is probably unknown to anyone on this forum.

Update

Hi friends, seems like applications submitted during the week starting 14th April are being picked now. I called up HO today and they mentioned that "Your application is in checking stages and you can hear something by end of this week or early next week. So I can see some progress atleast compared to past week, when the response was "Awaiting allocation to a case worker"
